Carson is a scrappy, strong MIF and RHP who plays the game with a lovable fire and competitive edge that cannot be taught. In the infield, Carson has incredibly fast hands that pair nicely with his side-to-side quickness and usage of his lower half. Carson does a great job of slowing the game down on the dirt by creating good hops for himself and trusting his soft hands. He is one of those guys that takes pride in the routine ground ball, but lives for making the highlight reel diving stop. He feels very comfortable on either side of the bag up the middle, as well as at 3B. On the mound, Carson throws from a sidearm slot which creates a great deal of run on both his fastball and changeup. He also showcases an interesting slider that works well to both right-handed and left-handed bats, feeling confident throwing it in any count. Because of his ability to stay down in the zone, Carson generates a lot of ground balls and weak contact. Offensively, Carson has a short, compact right-handed swing. Carson does a nice job of getting extended past contact and is a terrific situational hitter. He is another prime example at 643 of a hitter that rarely strikes out, competing his tail off with two-strikes and making the opposing defense make plays. Carson runs the bases with great instincts and stays under control, but trusts his eyes and reads just as good as anyone. As Carson continues to get stronger, his mentality and leadership will prepare him to make a difference for a top program at the college level.
