Congratulations to the 6-4-3 DP Cougars 10U team for winning the Perfect Game March Mayhem Tournament this past weekend. The 10U Cougars earned a perfect 5-0 record over the event. According to Head Coach Danny Pralgo, it was the toughest five game stretch the Cougars had faced this season.
The 10U Cougars faced strong teams with great pitchers all tournament long, and they matched it with a total team effort on defense, outstanding pitching, clutch hitting, and exciting base running. Outstanding plays in the outfield were featured by Chase Webb and Jackson Dodge. In the infield, clean defense was highlighted by George Moore and Mason Bennett. Ethan Pai and Aidan Moulder contributed great work at first base, and Malachi Owens made a “web gem”! Luke Rohlfs, Alex Adair and Parker Lively worked their tails off behind the dish grinding every pitch.
All Cougars pitchers threw great over the weekend which included 4 2/3 scoreless innings in the semi-final game by Luke Rohlfs. George Moore and Aiden Moulder shared the load in the championship game. Alex Adair, Mason Bennett, and Ethan Pai contributed huge innings as well. Luke Borden, Drew McGee and Madden Hernandez had strong outings on the mound too.
The Cougars offensive attack over the weekend included strong showings by Parker Lively, Ethan Pai, Malachi Owens and Luke Borden. Mason Bennett contributed timely hits, and Bentley Millis added important at-bats and bunts. All Cougars players had hits or found ways on base. There was not one easy out in the Cougars lineup this weekend as the team outscored their opponents by a margin of 31-8.
The final score of the championship game against the East Cobb Astros was 4-2! Both teams played well defensively in the finale.
